You noticed! IGNITE has a fresh new look with an updated logo. But we are still here for the same reason: to connect you with the support, opportunities, experiences and people that make campus life way more memorable.
Need financial support, somewhere to recharge or a way to speak up? That’s exactly all what IGNITE is about.
Big campus energy, now in one app
Campus gets busy fast. One minute, you are learning everyone’s names. Next, you have three deadlines, several unread group chats and no clue what is happening outside your classroom.
Enter: MyIGNITE.
The new app puts IGNITE’s services, opportunities, perks and experiences in one place for you to check out.
Events to meet friends? Easy access to check in to the Sleep Lounge and Zen Zone? Staying one step ahead of FOMO? MyIGNITE can point you in the right direction.
Keep an eye out for QR codes and activations across campus and online throughout the year on the app.
Our new website understood the assignment
IGNITE has a refreshed online home at IGNITEstudentunion.ca and finding what you need will feel a lot less like a scavenger hunt.
The new website gives you a clearer way to explore IGNITE’s services, campaigns, events, articles and resources in depth. While MyIGNITE helps you quickly access what is happening throughout the year, think of this as the place to go when you want the full story.
Housing is moving up the advocacy agenda
Finding somewhere to live should not feel like another course you forgot to enrol in. Unfortunately, high rent, confusing rental agreements and red flag landlords can make housing one of the hardest parts of being a student.
That is why student housing will be a major focus for IGNITE’s advocacy work in the year ahead.
IGNITE will help students find practical information about renting in Ontario, better understand their rights and share what they are experiencing in the rental market.
More housing resources, learning opportunities and ways to get involved are coming throughout the year.
Your opinion could pay off
Maybe you love something about campus life. Maybe something has been bothering you since week one.
The new IGNITE student surveys will give you the opportunity to share it. Monthly surveys for the fall semester are open to students from September 8, 2026 for the chance to win $1000.

Health and dental plan update
Whether you’re a new or returning student, there are a few changes to know about your IGNITE health and dental plan.
Starting September 1, 2026, Alumo will replace ClaimSecure as the benefits provider. Students will need to create a new Alumo account to access their digital benefits card, review coverage and submit claims through the Alumo Benefits App. The plan fee will also be charged as one amount at the beginning of your academic year instead of being split between semesters.
You do not need to memorize every detail today. Just take a few minutes to review the updated information, learn how to manage your plan and note any deadlines or steps that apply to you.
