About Soupbar
Soupbar is completely free, with grab-and-go hot and frozen containers of soup, perfect to enjoy while you’re on the move or taking some downtime.
You’ll find a variety of our delicious options served hot on the North campus, as well as frozen soups in 1L and 500ml containers in the freezers at North, Lakeshore and Downtown campus.

The Food Insecurity Reality That Spurred the Soupbar
Soup is an affordable comfort, but not every student can afford it consistently. When we saw food insecurity affecting our community, we took action.
The IGNITE Soupbar grew from student advocacy. Too many students were skipping meals or stretching budgets too thin. In partnership with Chartwells and the Faculty of Health Sciences + Wellness, we created a solution: free, nutritious soup available across all three campuses.
Now the Soupbar serves thousands of bowls each semester, making sure no student has to choose between eating well and paying for other essentials.

Is there a limit to how much soup I can take?
While the frozen soups at the North, Lakeshore and Downtown campuses are “first come, first served,” we ask that you please be considerate of your fellow students and take only what you need.
What types of soup are available? Are there options for different dietary restrictions (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, Halal)?
We offer a rotating selection of soups that may change from day to day. We do our best to accommodate a variety of tastes, preferences, and requirements, but we cannot guarantee options every day. If there isn’t an option that fits your needs, check back in another day or contact us to make a request.
