They have a life outside of guiding direction ya know?
Students have gotten to know the board through their stances and plans to tackle important issues, but what about their personalities? Getting to know your leaders is more than governance, it’s about values and knowing their lives aren’t far off from your own. How well do you know the people that represent you? Well, now is your chance.
Shivan Ahluwalia – Bachelor of Accounting
“I hate being average, I hate to lose”

In the little spare time Ahluwalia has, he chooses to continue his two-year practice on guitar with his teacher that brings him a little slice of home from India. If he finds himself outside of the house, it’s usually on campus, enjoying the space and getting to know the community while participating in as many activities and drop-in events as possible— Cricket, badminton, soccer — you name it.
As I mentioned before, Ahluwalia is always hard at work, and now he’s on his way to get his CPA (Accounting Certification) after graduating.
Sehaj (Sage) Bajwa – Bachelor of Digital Communication
“I literally gifted them nerf guns for their birthday”

That is the fun-loving guy Bajwa is. Like the majority of directors you’ll see on this list, there is little time for frivolous activities, but Bajwa has a bunch to choose from at his disposal, with only a fraction of the time to do them all.
While his friends wish for more room to get antiques like typewriters and lamps, Bajwa keeps his childlike wonder alive with Hot Wheels, Lego, and Nerf guns when he can.
When he isn’t working or showcasing his goofy side with his friends, he creates narrative-style videos about unique places in Toronto. Check him out here!
Surjeet Singh – Fitness and Health Promotion Diploma
“I keep it a light environment and always (a) fun environment.”

Singh may be all about fitness at school; you thought I was gonna deviate… nope.
He’s all about being active out of school too. Not only was he part of a Humber lead cricket team in 2025, but he continues to be an active player with the cricket team and has plans to try frisbee and hiking.
He enjoys constantly finding new activities. He has been in the chess club and a Chinese language club since coming to post-secondary and hasn’t let up since. He can be the funniest person in the room or the supportive friend his group needs.
Purab Sharma – Bachelor of Commerce and Finance
“This summer we spent going to different beaches.”

Could you expect anything less from someone who swims three to four times a week for the pure joy of it?
Paired with his love for road trips with friends and, of course, the beach, cliff jumping, and jet skiing. You’ll inevitably find yourself playing a bit of soccer in the sand with him.
But Sharma is built different. He’s also represented his home state in India on the field.
After literally jumping off cliffs, he enjoys taking some time to read mostly philosophical books and learning how history can be applied to improve everyday life.
Maryam Zahid – Bachelor of Science and Nursing
“She got inspired by me and she took a book from me, and she went to read it.”

Most book lovers have to beg and plead and ‘figuratively’ twist arms to get a non-reader to try. Zahid got her sister to read through pure inspiration. Granted, her sister didn’t take to reading after picking up that book, but Zahid’s aura is so strong that she made a person so averse to reading pick up a book and get pages deep before returning to her unreading ways.
Zahid enjoys connecting her love of reading and her mission to keep the Urdu language alive at home. She recently ordered books in Urdu just to have another avenue for using the culture she loves outside of speaking with her parents.
It doesn’t end there, though. She’s embarked on a year-long project to embroider a traditional Pakistani shirt with floral prints and bright colours. Keeping her culture alive in Canada.
Rish Diwan – Bachelor of Commerce International Business
“When I explore the world with her, I want to give all my time at the moment with her.”

He may be close to his Bachelor of Commerce, but Diwan isn’t new to the world of business. Already a successful owner of three Pizza Pizza franchises and a Milestones restaurant, he isn’t done just yet.
He says he wants to be a lawyer and continue the family legacy of being highly educated. His mother is a doctor and father is an architect.
Outside of wearing many hats and balancing a busy schedule, he carves out time to spend with his one-year-old daughter.
Before the school year started, he found himself in Mexico enjoying the sun and family time before his duties as a student began.
You’re more than the work you do

Along with Abdul-Moiz Saeed and Gracy Narewal, all of these students are incredibly hard-working both in the classroom and as your Board of Directors. So much so that all members deserve an acclaimed shout-out for being the students’ voice.
Hard-working isn’t their only attribute. Just like you they have to let loose and enjoy life outside of the busy school halls and urge the student body to do the same to get the most out of your student life.
You can start here by joining one of the many clubs around campus!
