It’s an inevitable moment in everyone’s post-secondary experience; you walk into class on the first day, and somehow, you’re already behind.
There are two quizzes you need to complete, five surveys that were due 20 minutes ago, and 15 Blackboard notifications waiting in your inbox.

1. An inconvenient timetable

May as well live in a study room.
2. Getting assignments on the first day
Apparently, all of your professors decided the first week of classes is the perfect time to bombard you with five assignments, all worth 20% of your grade!
Great… just great.
3. Technology fails
The wifi is not connecting, Blackboard is not loading, you’ve forgotten your passwords to everything, your computer is on its last leg. Chrome crashes right as you are finishing an online quiz. To make matters worse, the Information Technology Services desk has a line down the hall.
4. Emails
Emails from your professors, Financial Aid, academic advisors, 15 newsletters, and somehow the important email always gets lost between “your Canva Pro free trial is ending soon,” and a promotional email for a site you don’t remember signing up for.
5. That one classmate that won’t stop texting in the group chat
Like… Don’t you have other classes?
6. The cafeteria closes before class is over
Now you’re annoyed and hungry.
7. Group projects
You just met these people and now you have to judge them based on a five-minute interaction to figure out who is going to actually help with the assignment (not ideal, but necessary).
8. All the good study spots are taken
