Understand
Your Coverage
Student health insurance is a financial safety net that helps you manage the cost of healthcare, so you can focus on your studies worry-free. Find all the information you need to understand your plan.
Coverage Overview
All Humber Polytechnic and full-time University of Guelph-Humber students that are charged $233.30 annually for the IGNITE’s Health and Dental Insurance plan are covered for the entire academic year.
Under the plan you are covered for prescription drugs, dental, extended health, vision, accident benefits, and travel. Get to know the different plans and find what fits you best.
You will be enrolled in the Balanced Plan by default. You can switch to either the Enhanced Dental Plan, which boosts dental coverage, or the Enhanced Drug Plan which increases your prescription coverage.
Even though all plans cost the same, they offer slightly different amounts of coverage. It’s important to select the plan that will work best for your needs. You may only change your plan at the start of your academic term before the advertised deadline date. Plans can only be switched once per academic year.
