EDIB at IGNITE

True equality does not happen by accident. We work for it. Equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging shapes how we support students day-to-day, how we advocate for change, and how we help make campus welcoming and accessible for everyone.

Be Excellent

Black Student Support

Through partnerships with Humber’s Black Student Support + Engagement (BSSE) and direct investment in Black student success, we create opportunities for connection, growth, and belonging on campus.

Whether you need financial support, mental health services, or community, they’re here to help you navigate campus and beyond.

Be the Change

Humber Indigenous Education & Engagement

The centre honours a wide variety of faiths and traditions while creating inclusive spaces where students from diverse backgrounds and beliefs can explore and grow. It also supports Indigenous Education and Engagement at Humber and the University of Guelph-Humber by centering Indigenous Ways of Being, Knowing, and Doing in education.

Be Yourself

2SLGBTQ+ Student Support

Through our partnership with the LGBTQ+ Resource Centre, we’re creating spaces where 2SLGBTQ+ students feel seen and heard, and can show their pride.

Whether you need financial support, health resources, or community, they’re here to connect you with what matters to you.

How We Turn Inclusion Into Belonging

At IGNITE, we build equity intentionally through initiatives that come directly from our students. Here’s how we’re creating a more inclusive campus for everyone.

Inclusive Procurement & Partnerships

We choose partners and vendors who share our commitment to equity and inclusion. When we spend student dollars, we prioritize organizations that reflect and support diverse communities.

Build a Diverse
+ Inclusive Workforce

The people behind IGNITE should reflect the students we serve. We’re committed to hiring, developing, and supporting a workforce that represents the diversity of our campus community.

Fostering a Sense of Belonging

You shouldn’t have to work harder to belong. We create programs, spaces, and advocacy initiatives that ensure every student can find community, access support, and feel safe being themselves on campus.

Find Supportive Resources

Have a question, need support, or looking for community? Connect with resources built for students like you. From inclusive events to mental health support and job opportunities, we’re here to help.

Honouring the Territory

Land Acknowledgment

In respect and honour of the ancestors who lived on this land before us and currently still reside in this area, IGNITE acknowledges that we are situated on the treaty lands and traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit and homeland of Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples.
